Bridal backs
Jessica Diehl
Jessica Diehl arrived in New York in 1995, working as an assistant to stylist Carlyne Cerf de Dudzeele, then moving to Vogue to assist creative director Grace Coddington. She remained at Vogue for three years as a contributing editor and by 2006 was appointed Senior Style Editor at Vanity Fair where she now serves as Fashion and Style Director. Her work is an inspiration to anyone working in the styling industry.
Sri Lanka design festival
While visiting Sri Lanka for the annual design festival, I was lucky enough to be able to spend a morning at Pinnawala elephant sanctuary...
The experience was truely breathtaking and brought to mind the work of Avedon, and the model Dovima. Two contrasting studies of Dovima were published by Harper’s Bazaar. The photograph of Dovima in black was reprinted many times but the image of Dovima in white was printed only once and the negative no longer exists. “It disappeared mysteriously,” Avedon said. Hopefully we can work to ensure these great creatures also are not lost for eternity.
